When will the military draft begin?
With all of this talk about being in Iraq for the "long haul" and the pentagon saying that there are not enough troops for rotation, I believe that the draft will be resurrected. Are we prepared to deal with this possibility/probability?

1. After 2004
After the 2004 elections at the earliest. Bush and Co realize it would be political suicide if they put that in place beore the elections. Reinstating the draft would light a fire under so many people, especially the young and their parents.

2. Good points.
Especially since North Korea and Iran - to say nothing of Africa - are all potential areas of involvement. But the pResident dares not institute a draft before 2004.
