1. Republicans at least have the good sense...
not to support idiotic actions like "Guns for Tots".

(Here's a link about the program from the New York Coaltion for the Promotion of Anti-Social Behaviour website.)

They did a piece on it on the Daily Show last night.

8. Libertarians don't care what you do in bed or with controlled
substances.

However, some of them are even wackier than the Republicans when it comes to privatization and they value property rights (their own property rights, not how their property rights might affect someone else's property rights) over civil rights, human rights, and every other kinds of rights.

11. The Libertarians CLAIM to be for drug legalization
I don't think they really would be if they had the opportunity.

Okay, let's throw out a scenario: Badnarik gets elected president and he gets enough Libertarians in Congress to get his point across. They legalize weed.

Now, remember that most American businessmen--ESPECIALLY the ones who currently do drug testing--are Republicans, and Republicans hate drugs except for themselves. They wait two weeks after the pot law passes and piss-test all of their problem children. Private business being sacrosanct in the Libertarian realm, no law requiring employers to retain workers who are caught smoking weed can be passed and (thank you, Right To Work!) all of these people get canned.

Termination for drug use is a big black mark on your permanent record. You can't get a job after getting fired for pissing hot. You can't eat because the Libertarians have abolished welfare. You don't want to starve and...well, Sam, we've got exactly enough money in the bank to buy a revolver.

Pot law passes -> pot-related terminations skyrocket -> armed robbery rate goes through the roof -> pot leads to armed robbery -> pot is once again abolished.
