Saw "National Treasure" on DVD last night. Liked it more than I expected
Edited on Fri May-13-05 08:58 AM by Richardo
The characters (good guys and bad guys) are actually pretty smart, and figured out things on their own. Even the cops (Harvey Keitel!).

A wildly implausible plot, I admit - but I liked the puzzle-solving aspect. Then again, I always preferred 'Myst' and 'Riven' to 'Grand Theft Auto'

Pretty good for light-weight, fluff movie.

1. I've been meaning to rent that.
It kind of flopped at the box office, didn't it? Made me leery of renting, but maybe I'll check it out.

2. one nice thing about National Treasure was..
none of the puzzles could be solved without the previous puzzles being solved.

i.e. you "happen upon" a clue that lets you start there instead of where they did start.

(I was suspicious about the boston clue because of that reason)

3. Snore............
Just so-so in my book, the ending really sucked. The alternate ending was much better.

4. I was going to watch that, and didn't
The ending WAS very pat, but I've learned to stop paying attention to the last 5 minutes of any Hollywood movie.
