My Daughter's friend died this morning

his mother went in to wake him for school and found him dead. The word is unofficially that he was using someones pain patches( morphine) and having a heart condition it killed him. She called me at noon just wailing. I don't know what to say to her.The bot was 16 years old....what a waste

I am truly scared. Our daughter has been drug tested many times and has passed with flying colors but I am still worried

time release coating on them, grind them into powder(thus destroying the coating) and snort them all at once. Whatever happened to a case of beer and a few laughs in high school on the weekends? The stuff now a days makes Studio 54 look tame.

As I was reading this thread much earlier tonight, there was something I wanted to say to you. My 15 year old son was sprawled on the floor doing homework, and read some of the posts. He was receptive, and for us, this led to a good discussion about drugs and huffing and damage to bodies and minds young and old, and about telling someone if a friend is doing or saying something dangerous. I told him that if he ever caught shit for ratting someone out for bad bad stuff, we would move him or we would all move. Not a problem.

I typed a response to you about this, and he saw it and said "Mom, don't post about me". So I made the post go away. Now, I am cheating because I want you to know that maybe your posts did a lot of good somewhere far away, for people you don't even know.

I wish this bad thing had not happened for all of you.

At least most of my friends started dying in my 20s. Teenage is just horrible. When I was that age, there were some that died in car accidents, but that was it. You could sort of understand that. It's just so tough. My daughter is almost 15 and so far, she has not faced that. I hope it continues.
