I Survived My Surgery
Edited on Wed May-11-05 05:19 AM by REP
I had one of these put in my left kidney on May 5:

It hurts even more than you can possibly imagine. It gets yanked out on Friday.

Everything about the surgery was awful. I have never been in as much pain as I was after the surgery and the day after (I've had all four impacted wisdom teeth out on the same day; a root canal and an extraction on the same day; I pass kidney stones every month; I've had ovarian cysts rupture ... I'm well acquainted with real pain). I was very sorry that I survived the surgery until Saturday; I'm still not convinced that having the surgery to save the kidney was that great an idea.

I'll probably feel better in about a month.

2. the good news is that it is done
I have had two kinds of stents, and the one you got is the preferred one. It didn't faze me much when he removed mine. I mean I did sit up and say oh!, but by that time it is over.

hope this surgery helps you.
