2. Not everybody is a 1st generation legend like Zephyr
I'm sure he would have been arrested if he got caught writing it so - I think it still qualifies :)

7. I love those!
I certainly would call that something besides graffiti because it is wonderful. Graffiti has such a bad conotation. Am I wrong or did Basquiat also start with graffiti?

15. Good.
We do not have that around here. I am glad there is pride involved because they are really great. I would love to see that on all the blank walls of cement around here. It seems that Kansans love blank walls of concrete or big blocks of it since you don't have to water and weed it. Probably part of the reason many of them are the way they are. No creative bones in their bodies.

but it's a classic nonetheless:

19. sorry
this is vandalizing someone's/or public property.

99.99% of what you see is NOT the art variety. it is nothing but tagging. and quite frankly, no one gives a shit if some jerk has been there with a marker or etching acid. however, the amount of monetary damage they leave in their wake is huge.

some of these artist guys/gals are really good, good enough for display, or shows. they could easily make money off of it if they wanted to.

but you do NOT spray all over someone else's property and expect people to ooh and aah over it, saying how great it is.

but i suppose that is the lure, doing it late at night, in the dark, because they know that what they are doing is not accepted by the huge majority of people actually living in the area. but of course, they don't give a shit.

but, street trash is still street trash. their purpose is to pull the whole community into the gutter with them.

mayor bloomberg keeps talking about improving quality of life issues.

this would be one for him to tackle. make it a $1,000 first time fine, then doubling everytime caught, with half of the fine going to the person who took the video proving they did it. and make they taggers clean up their own, and other's, crap.
