Poll question: Are you a paradoxical freak?
Ever have several facets of yourself that just don't mix well or some people get one part but don't like the other (or the other way around). I don't mean in a psycho, Sybil way, but kind of a normal sort of contrasting, multifaceted way?

1. I think paradoxism is human nature...........
were pulled in so many directions by our wants and needs, its not surprising that our personalities become fractured in a paradoxical way.

2. Oh, Yeah
We are complex creatures, SarahBelle.

I have the sweet, nurturing, mothery side ( don't get me near a baby if you never wanna see it) and the Badass Chick side ( the one who loves guns and cars) and the herbal naturalist side ( all about peace and sweat lodges and smudge sticks) and the Musician side ( making fun of bass players and music industry types is SOOO fun, but not as much fun as being on stage making the boys swoon) and I annoy a crapload of people because I have done so many things and "nice little girls" aren't supposed to have that much fun.

I think that's why most of my good friends are men ( straight and gay.) They get my jokes and my twisted, multi-tasking personality.

3. I might be looked at like that to people
Then again I might not. I learned many years ago not to psychoanalyze myself too much. It can really ruin a good day.
The best thing to do is to accept what you are, and if you need to tweak a few areas, just do it. Other than that, we are all too messed up to turn ourselves in to the "perfect" person.
And don't let other people's opinions of you concern you. They are just as messed up.

16. I think I'm just decompressing from stuff with my ex.
I'm ok with myself, but certain things with him did a number on my head for a long, long time.

4. Nah, I'm more of a hypocrite
Does as I say and not as I do and all that :-)

For example, I can't stand watching indecision, yet it took me years to settle on a design for my own website

15. Yeah, I tend to overanalyze stuff with regard to myself...
(tediously so) but when looking outside at others, it's easier to see, so I don't. :)

5. Don't even get me started.
No, seriously, don't. I'd be afraid to post a few of the strange paradoxes that comprise me, a liberal Democrat. They'd get me tossed off this site.

6. Yes, but that's why we're human and not robots.
Such as me wanting to be amongst people and interact but then needing alone time to decompress.

19. Try as we might none of us are perfect.
Perfectionists maybe, like yours truly who's a vastly imperfect perfectionist.

:)

11. Believe me, I don't mean it in a bad way.
Kind of co-opting the word that I heard one too many times and made it into something else. :D

22. "badass tendencies" I love it!
Hey, don't let that ex play games with your self-perception. Divorce ( and breakup) is like this: You spend all your money and time ripping someone apart that only years before you spent all your money and time dressing up to look perfect for- you rip off the wedding garments you carefully chose for each other and try to find every flaw. At least, some folks do.

Healthy badass chicks like you move on, and leave the cheap, sour grapes psychoanalysis to losers like your ex. He didn't deserve your not-so-badass self with her mild badass tendencies....HA!

:hi:

granted some people have better inner-integration than others... but you'd be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't have different (occasionally clashing)facets :)
