I got "selected" by the Nielsen company to keep a TV Diary.

They gave me a diary to keep for a week and a whole 5 dollars to participate. I am not to thrilled with it but I guess it won't hurt. They want you to write down every station you have access to- I have DirectTV and I will be damned if I am going to write down or photocopy the menu. (250+ stations)
They called me up this morning to remind me to start recording and seemed shocked I hadn't turned on the TV yet.

1. Try The DirecTV Web Site...

... then cut-n-paste the channel lineup from there.

However, I'd think that it would be enough for you to just tell them that you have DirecTV as your provider. Except for the local channels, the channel numbers for everything else remain the same nationwide, right?

My favorite DirecTV channel is 256.

2. Can you make notes about the shows?

such as "Watched Fox News for 5 minutes - threw up and changed the channel"

3. Just write in the shows you want to support.

You don't have to actually watch them.
