I'd go to the Monster Movie Marathon at the Southern theater this Saturday ($.25), get a large popcorn and soda ($.35), and a box of Junior Mints ($.05) and have enough left for a malt on the way home.

Oh, to be 12 again!

3. On some pop?
That sounds divine.
As for the prices, you must have been in a coma for the last 50 years. Things have changed quite a bit since then. Glad you were able to pick up the new fangled email stuff so quickly. ;)

4. Oh..Man..I remember those days.
The "Plaza" theater in St.Petersburg used to let in Kids on Saturday morning if they brought a Nestle Candy bar Wrapper.
What a Deal...Buy the candy...wrap it in wax paper and get into the show for free AND..watch 3 Films..4 Cartoons... SIGH...

Now ..it's Popcorn and a small drink and small candy.....
"That will be $8.75 Sir"...Fuck! :)

5. Go to the little store
and get some wax candy that held some colored sweet water. I have no idea what it was called, and now I would think it would be yucky. I used to get the pop bottles from behind the fraternaty houses (I grew up on a college campus). Learned early to sort the soda bottles from the beer bottles.

6. A fifty cent Saturday
I was allowed to walk the several blocks to the Five Points Theater in broad daylight.
15 cents admission.
10 cents for popcorn, another dime for a Coke, and a nickel for a Hershey bar.
10 cents for the mama-mandated bus ride home after dark.

I'd watch the double-feature cowboy shoot-em-up through twice.
Use the bus fare for another Coke or popcorn during my second viewing.
Walk home in the dark and NEVER tell mama.
scamp
;-)

8. I'd buy myself the sketch pad and pencil I'd been eying.
Then maybe some candy.
