Any SCTV fans out there?
I just rented volume one of SCTV's network 90 episodes and I get to keep them for a whole week!

Does anyone else love this stuff?

Also- are there other SCTV compilation DVDs that you know of?

Show me the love if you have it!

9. There's precious little on TV, but little things like this are golden.
I TiVo the episodes every Friday night, and I'm transferring them to DVDs. Hope they run these long enough to make a SCTV library! (They're still in the pre-Martin Short early Harold Ramis versions now.)

and Andrea Martin as Perini Scleroso was hilarious.

When I was a teenager and first saw SCTV on Canadian TV (I grew up in northcentral Montana), they just blew my mind. So superior to anything SNL has ever done. Brilliant comedy.

26. YES!
Love it. I used to watch it as a kid with my dad. In the '80s they used to show it on our local PBS station. It was the first show I put on video tape, which I later, argh, taped over as a teenager. A couple years ago they were showing it late night on NBC, I think, and I understood a little more than I had as a kid & was impressed by how smart it was. Love "Mrs Falbo's Tiny Town" among many other sketches.

48. SCTV is the best!!
and actually, TV Land is mixing reruns of the older episodes with the newer ones. The older ones tend to be during the first hour or hour and a half and the last half hour tends to be from one of the newer shows.

For example, last week they ran a half-hour of their Emmy-winning "Moral Majority Show" episode, in which Guy Caballero sells out SCTV to a soap manufacturer just for the advertising bucks, and then has to dance to their tune in terms of program content. Gosh, this doesn't remind us at ALL of real TV, does it?? Nah!

I loved Andrea's Libby Wolfson character (the play episode if on Vol. 3).
There are volumes 1-3. I hear the next series to be released will be the 30 minute eps. with Ramis.
My favorite bit from Vol. 1 has to be "Cooking with Edith Prickley" and the Tex and Edna Boil's Organ Emporium.
