1. That's a Negatory
I've got several CB radios, but I never listen to them. In the DC area, channel 6 is known as "the Bowl," if I am not mistaken. That's a popular channel for local users, as opposed to drive-through truckers. Users on the Bowl tend to have radios with echo chamber sound effects and, most likely, more watts output than is legal.

3. Down here in Texas we don't believe...
in overdoing things. The most wattage I've ever pushed is a 100 watt modulator driving a 600 watt 4 pill radio, pushing a 12 pill amplifier at 3,600 watts.

2. CQDX? You aren't going to say "10-4 good buddy" next, are you?
BTW....the expression "loud mouth ratchet jaw" is redundant.

(In over 20 years of owning a Citizens Band radio i've NEVER heard anyone talk like that on it)

5. CQ and DX are ham radio terms
I oughta know-- my dad had his rig in the front room, and had enough power in his transmitter to blank out all the tv and radio sets in town.

Honked a lot of neighbors off on a regular basis...

7. Calling CQ means "Calling any station"
CQ DX means "Seek contact with any distant station"

9. Cool, thanks for the link. I've been off the channel for several years...
I loved talking on Citizen Band!
