Poll question: "Empire Strikes Back" question..
If you were in Luke's predicament when confronted by Darth Vader and he offered you your place in the family business, would you have acted as Luke did and turn away or would you have joined the Dark Side with all the perks and priviledges? I'd have joined, period.

1. I'd have to know beforehand if I'd get an even cooler mask
And that would be hard to promise, because Vader's mask was pretty badass.

2. I think I'd just go for the simple, black robe look..
with the mechanical right hand, of course. My issue with the story is that in the movies, Luke's such a goody-two-shoes wuss that he's never even really tempted.

3. But then Return of the Jedi would not have made any sense.

4. Luke was a hero. He could not possibly turn to the dark side
anymore than Yoda or Obiwan could.

Supposedly, Luke was potentially a more powerful Jedi than his father ever was. With great power, as Peter Parker could tell you, comes great responsibility. It was Luke's destiny to destroy the Emporer, and redeem Anakin.

Of course, what happened after that has become the fodder of dozens of books, veering into "Doc Smith" adventures.

I love SF.
