Just stumbled into the town taking a road trip in the region. My parents are not too far away, and we were curious.

Actually, it's quite a good example of a charming old southern town - although without the clout or size of a Charleston or Savannah. Cheraw has much to recommend with its architecture and history, its landscaping and botany, etc. I grew up in the south, but having lived in other regions out west for 17 years now, it is quite refeshing to view the southern landscape anew. :-)
