In honor of the release of HHGTTG I give you: Vogon Poetry
Oh freddled gruntbuggly,
Thy micturations are to me
As plurdled gabbleblotchits
On a lurgid bee.
Groop, I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes
And hooptiously drangle me
with crinkly bindlewurdles,
Or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts with my blurglecruncheon
See if I don't.

Gashee morphousite, thou expungiest quoopisk!
Fripping lyshus wimbgunts, awhilst moongrovenly kormzibs.
Bleem miserable venchit! Bleem forever mestinglish asunder frapt!
Gerond withoutitude form into formless bloit, why not then? Moose.

9. Thank you so much, Az!
Only the third worst poets in the galaxy? I shrink to hear what the worst ones would sound like!

8. I like the way the rhythmic devices seem to counterpoint the
surrealism of the underlying metaphor.

10. First time I read that Vogon poetry, I imagined Captain Prostetnic Jeltz..
...was the William Shatner of the Vogon species. A starship captain who would rather be an artist - but really sucked at it.

11. Saw the movie tonight, especially loved the Vogons - Adams REALLY
didn't have much use for bureaucratic British lawyers!

For "official" reviews - here's the Rotten Tomatoes review page on the movie:

14. Zaphod Beebrox was played as a takeoff on Bush - incredibly stupid,
totally self-centered, and so callous and clueless that he signs the order to destroy Earth to make way for an overpass "Love and Kisses, Zaphod,' and doesn't even remember it. To top it off, he has a southern US accent that could be Texan, which stands out among the mostly British accents of the other actors. Zaphod has half a brain and is President of the Galaxy. Sound familiar to you, too?
