Do your cats have designated "cat spots?"
If I'm on the couch, it's one on the left knee and one on the feet. They never, ever vary. If it's bedtime, one up on the bed by my head, one between the knees. It's like they have their own personal territory on my body. Do they all do this? Where are your "cat spots?"

2. Yes
If Ali wants to cuddle while I sleep, it's under the covers, on my left, with my arm streched out around her (she likes the armpit). But that's the only cat that's really staked out her territory.

Monty likes to watch me get ready, and he always sits next to my right leg.

Mia likes a good lap when she wants to take a nap, but anyone's lap will do.

3. I think they do
My cat is always close to me....hes either over my shoulder on the couch or between my knees when I sleep. Sometimes when Im moving around in the house, he jumps up my leg, climbs up my chest and then sits on my shoulder like a parakeet to go where ever I go.

14. I've got a shoulder percher as well.
He drapes himself over me and rides around.

Once when my Mom was visiting she was getting out of the shower. Obviously she was nekkid, and Tommy decided to climb her like a Christmas tree. Good thing she loooooves kitties!

16. OUCH!
My mom's is a shoulder perching cat. She's a Cornish Rex; I guess that's something that breed likes to do. She is quite possibly the clumsiest cat ever -- always knocking stuff over. Mine go all over the house and never knock over a thing!

18. Isnt that the best thing in the world?!?!?!
That an animal can trust you so much that he does something like that? It took Tyke 2 years, but he loves sitting on my shoulder...and I love having him there. My fiancee always gets jealous and says, "why doesnt he jump up on my shoulder?" I just laugh and remind her that the bulldog likes her better, but the cat is mine

5. Lately, since the weather got warm
it's the windowsill for the two we don't allow out.

Looking longingly at the birds, and twitching.

6. NO
my cats are strictly outside cats, and most don't even like to be petted. They will come when called (especially if I use the word "Treat"), but they freak out if they accidentally get inside.

7. Um, yeah, and I hate it.
My dog went through some rough times a few months back, and she started peeing in our room to let us know how displeased she was. As much as I've tried, I haven't been able to get the stain out of the carpet. We're going to be replacing the carpet soon anyway.

But our male kitty loves to roll in that spot. That is where he sleeps.

The dog and cat love each other, so I guess it sorta makes sense.

15. Oops has many spots
Edited on Sat Apr-30-05 05:13 PM by skygazer
When hubby and I sit on the sofa in the evening, Oops is either on the back curled up on his favorite cubby or the cubby is over my lap and he is snuggled up against me on his piece of it (he and I share the cubby).

When we go to bed, he sleeps either between hubby's legs or on my butt (when I sleep on my stomach).

When hubby reads the paper, his spot is ON the paper.

He also has his favorite spot by the wood stove and outside, he likes to curl up in the paper recycling bin!

on edit - my dogs were the same way. At one time, I had four Boxers and a Beagle. They ALL slept with me. My big male Boxer slept at the foot of the bed. Dixie curled up in the curve of my belly. Jake curled up in the curve of my legs behind me. Zena stretched out along my front. The Beagle got under the covers and slept on my feet. We were like a pile of puppies - it was wonderful.

19. Basically, they think own everything they see.
But their favorite "cat spots" are my lap and the computer desk. I think its called maximum annoyance with minimum effort.
