1. I love him in Love Actually...
I love how he gets with and defends the chubby girl. She's gorgeous and hilarious. I love when he dances to the Pointer Sisters. God, I just rewatched that the other night and I LOVE him.

5. He showed great ability in "About a Boy".
I was extremely impressed with him in that--I think because he got to be ugly (behaving), albeit just a little bit, and our stars don't get to do that much.

8. Sense and Sensibility is one of my all-time favorites.
I can watch Four Weddings and a Funeral again and again and never get tired of it, but I won't ever think it's in the same league as Sense and Sensibility.

However, I don't think of any film as a "Hugh Grant film," even though I've seen quite a few of them. He's been in some great movies, but he doesn't MAKE the movie. S&S is great because of Emma Thompson's award-winning script, a great ensemble cast, Ang Lee's direction, great editing, and a wonderful story. Oh, and the locations are terrific, too.

Four Weddings has another wonderful ensemble cast and a break-neck pace that works. It was a hit for that reason, not because of the casting of the lead role.

10. You have a good point
many of Grant's films are ensemble pieces and I think he does work best in that type of environment, but "About a Boy" was his film and not really an ensemble piece and he was excellent in it.
