Spill Your Guts!!!! It's DU Lounge Secret Time..
Everyone tell one secret about them selfs to the DU public. I could promise you luck or good fortune, but I can't, so I'll just do it for fun. Don't be shy!!

OK I'll Start...

I am a local Pro Wrestler. Yes, even a smart liberal can enjoy something as mindless as beating the hell out of another person for a $20 a night payday.

P.S. Please no rips about it being a "fake" or "stupid" Sport/Activity. I have multiple injuries that say other wise. It is not as easy as it looks.

I am in a small Indy (independent) Fed. We may look to get on TV down the road, but I'm not counting on it. Plus I have no interest in going to the WWE. I do it just for the fun of it, not for a career.

Changing my answer here. I can't stop buying books. I have books all over the place, some I haven't even read yet, and I can't seem to stop myself from buying more.

I've been really into the romantic-mystery genre lately like Nora Roberts aka J.D. Robb, etc.

and when my mom asked me where I got them, I constructed an elaborate lie. She didn't believe me, but I stood by the lie. I felt so guilty that I told myself next time she asked I would tell the truth.

Here I am 28 years later, and she hasn't asked again, and I STILL - SERIOUSLY - carry the guilt. If I think to much about it it somehow taps the inner child or some wacky thing and I STILL want to cry.

Totally weird.

Well, thank you for your sentiments. However, it is NOT romantic. He does not share my feelings, as far as I know. In fact, I am prohibited from contacting him, per his request. I am trying to forget him, and am not having any luck doing so. DU is helping fill the void his leaving created. But he will always be part of my mind and I will always care about him...

21. In the 2nd grade I stole a dollar in quarters from the desk I sat
in during Math class. We had these machines to buy really cool pencils, and my mom would hardly ever give me money to buy one.
Well, after math was over, I was back in my Language Arts class and my math teacher sent a pink pass to come and see her. I was sure the student told her his money was missing. I was so distraught, that as soon as I saw her, I started crying and handed the quarters over. She knew nothing about this, I had left my book in her room.

That's the only time I've ever stolen anything, my conscience won't allow it.

I'm still getting over a relationship that ended two years ago.

I'll be getting over it for the rest of my life.

I am adamantly single. I wouldn't wish me on anyone.

I turned to stone two years ago today. Exactly today. April 23rd, 2003.

The rest is coda.

So that's that.

67. Your relationship ended on Shakespeare's birthday?
Ouch.

Take that with the necessary sympathy from someone who has found that her last relationship is probably going to be her last. Not because he was so great, but as I have posted about in the past, because he was horrible. And I was so much less aware then, I had no idea how bad it was or how little he cared for me until it was entirely too late. It's not possible for me to imagine trying to love another human being again because, well, I don't care about any of that anymore. It's not fearing the pain of another potential bad experience as it is not believing romantic love is a valuable, meaningful emotion. And not thinking it can contribute anything to my life. I don't see that mindset changing.

The only advice I can give is to do what I try to do...when I get down about it I focus on the things that have made me really happy in the last 3 years, those moments and things and people that have brought me joy. There have been one or two. ;)

89. You certainly have my empathy
In order to be a "well-balanced" person I kept trying to forget and establish other relationships. Finally figured out it wasn't fair to the "new" ones and was a drag for me too. I now find pleasure in friends, intellectual pursuits etc.

65. I'm infatuated with an ex-professor
of mine. She's almost thirty years older than I am (but she doesn't look a day over fifty). Is age a big deal between women?

So, I have a thing for older, published PhDs with smoldering dark eyes...

sue me.

74. Mourning KICK
:KICK:

OK, I guess I need to go again. I am a Crush-aholic. I seen to always have a crush on someone and as soon as i find a new crush, the old crush fades away.

I am now on my 3rd Crush in 5 years. I am a Part time bartender on weekends and she is a co-worker. Its all good, I never, EVER pursue them. I am VERY happily married. I guess its just part of my makeup....maybe its the makeup of every guy!!!

76. I don't think I've ever...
been in love. I'm 34 years old. I've been involved with several men. But I don't think I've ever been in love and I'm pretty sure none of them have ever been in love with me. I'd like to experience it at least once in my life but things aren't looking good for the hometeam. *sigh*

77. since you ask
The last man I was in-love with broke up with me by e-mail only 72 hours after spending another wonderful weekend together while we watched the snow pile up outside.

The white-out conditions surrounded us in a beautiful two foot of new snow. Albany was hit with one blizzard after another that winter but didn't mind ~ I was on top of the world as I drove home. Life wasn't perfect but it didn't matter because I had found one of my soul-mates and I was truly in-love deeper than I had ever been in my life.

The next day he sent me two emails. The first one included a driving shortcut from one of the areas where I shopped to his home, I thought he was being so sweet. The second one included an erotic story he had written.

"Waiting" was the title of his incredibly descriptive story. After reading about his fantasies - I told him that no matter how much as I loved him - I couldn't be his "Samantha".

"Time To Let Go" was the heading on the email he sent to me the next day. That was the day *the last love of my life* changed my life forever. I didn't have a clue that he would turn my world upside down on 1/7/03.

The last woman who loved him before I met him committed suicide because she couldn't live without him. May the lovely Leslie's soul be at peace.

82. Ok...do you have any idea...
what "being a mole" actually means? Congratulations on managing to make it 3 whole posts without anyone finding out your super-secret mission. :eyes:

Or are you actually just saying you live underground and never see the light of day?

I have them everywhere and light them all the time. There. I said it. The first step in addressing the problem is admitting that there is a problem.

86. I am a huge pro wrestling fan!
Edited on Sat Apr-23-05 03:00 PM by Pushed To The Left
I am 32 years old, and I've been addicted since I was 10! I was involved in a battle royal when I was 24 and did some ring announcing at some San Bernardino shows. I was actually pretty awful when it came to working a pro wrestling match. I ended up getting into submission grappling(BJJ, shooto, etc) which it turned out I was a lot better at. I haven't grappled in a long time...I need to start again!

91. I used to work with baboons
and part of my job was to do anthropometric measurements on them. It took a team of monkey observers to accomplish this. After the techs had immobilized them in a single capture cage, we would gently lift the baboon out of its container and place it on the floor for measurement. I had to bend over and use the calipers to do the skinfold measurements.

One of my male co-workers, Paul, kept feeling my butt as I bent over and kept giving me small pats. Paul was a little bit younger than me, but I thought he must have some kind of crush on me--and he was normally a very nice, rather shy, young man. So I just shifted around to where he couldn't do it and gave him rather dirty looks. Finally, after several days of this, however, I got fed up with it and in the middle of the group process castigated him publicly in no uncertain terms for his over familiarity.

Whereupon the entire team broke up and started rolling around the floor laughing. To my great embarrassment it had never been Paul doing the patting and feeling. My position bending over looked like a "present" to the other male baboons in cages in close quarters. The proper mannerly thing to do if you are a baboon and someone "presents" to you is to reach out and pat the butt of the person presenting.
