Favorite casual acquaintance letter closing salutation?
Most of the time, I just go with "Best Regards," but I also like "Best Wishes,".

I think I'm in the mood for a change, though. What's the best one you use?

1. "Love"
I like to make them feel uncomfortable.

It's also great for business correspondence.

3. LOL I used that one WAY too much back when I was young.
For some reason I got the idea that that was how you were supposed to close all letters.

Scared quite a few people, I think.

2. I like to close with "up yours"
Then if they call me on it, I just say "I meant 'regards'...the keys are like really close together..."

4. Funny
Reminds me of an old Monty Python bit.

The guy would tell the king that he reminded him of bat's piss.

When the king asked what he meant he said In a dark dark world, your majesty is like a stream of gold.

12. Nice.
Edited on Thu Apr-21-05 02:37 PM by BullGooseLoony
I remember the first time reading it I was stoned out of my mind, on a twelve-hour bus trip from Santa Barbara to Arcata.

I thought everything was so hilarious. Those characters are all so great.

And I just loved that line- "So who's the bull goose loony around here?"

On edit: I'm sure the folks on the bus thought I was nuts, laughing out loud like that to myself. I guess that would have been appropriate, anyway.

21. Sometimes I just use "yours,"
Other times I elaborate "yours faithfully," or "yours sincerely," or sometimes, if I'm writing more to an entire family (which happens often) "my best to all."
