¿¿¿MONKEY S.W.A.T. teams??? (Mesa Arizona)
Okay not teams exactly just one monkey. See below for the Polic Chief's response.

AZ SWAT Team Trying to Enlist Monkey
http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/news/41905-oddity-monekyswat.html

Truelove said the department is trying to obtain a capuchin, considered the second smartest primate behind the chimpanzee, with about $100,000 in grant money.

Truelove says the monkey, which alone would cost $15,000, could become the ultimate SWAT reconnaissance tool. Capuchins are small, weighing between 3 and 8 pounds, have tiny humanlike hands and puzzle-solving skills. He said the monkey could be trained to unlock doors and search buildings.

Police chief spurns monkey idea

Mesa Police Chief Dennis Donna does not see a monkey in the SWAT team’s future.

"The purchase of a capuchin monkey has not been considered by executive staff," Donna said in a news release put out by a Mesa spokeswoman.

1. Living in Mesa, I can tell you the story is true.
It's been on the news for a while.

Wouldn't really surprise me.

6. Ahem not according to Paul Harvey
Edited on Tue Apr-19-05 11:39 AM by underpants
of course Paul also informed me that the 7% increase in the cost of living must be taken in with some perspective. See if you subtract the increases in gas and food the increase is only 1/10th of a percent(something like that)..........so avoid buying gas or food and you will be just fine
