Poll question: Which would you choose
My husband and I are total opposites metabolically. He can eat everything he wants, anything he wants, as much as he wants, and never gains weight. Me, if I just walk by something starchy, or high calorie, I gain a dress size.

But, you know, we've noticed... he farts A LOT. I never (well, hardly ever) fart at all. So we wondered if the farting had something to do with his never gaining weight... and if so, and if we could put it - whatever "it" is - into a pill, what do you think people would choose? You could take the pill, and eat whatever you want, but you'd be farting all the time. Would you take the pill?

1. Not only yes, but, "Hell yes!"
I've got the worst of both worlds. I'm overweight and I fart a lot.

6. remind me not to sit next to you
at the next DU gathering we're both at. ;)

Although, seriously, I probably should, since I'm not as bothered by the odor as I used to be. 15 years of living with a farter will do that.

17. Obviously, you don't live with someone

3. How old is your husband? I thought the same
about mine-he was always skinny as a rail AND farted-now he still farts, but has gained weight in the past few years. As for me, it's all happening! :silly:

4. early 50s
He *says* he's gaining weight. Yeah, what a little butterball - 6'6" tall with a 33 inch waist (at least, that's the waist size of his jeans, and he says they're not as "loose" as they used to be). Doesn't weigh himself, but I'm guessing he's probably 175-180 lb.

Of course, this was 15 years ago... we're both a little heftier now - me more than him, though.

And, of course, people no longer wonder why I have a crick in my neck all the time...

8. My husband is built just like that
6'5" and about 180... he wears a 33x36... finding those is fun. Online shopping to the rescue! :)

11. Drysdales for jeans
my Dearly beloved is 33/38. Drysdales is the only one that carries them. Even Levi's stopped making them. And shirts? forget it. Just *try* to find a dress shirt with a 15-1/2" neck and 38" sleeves. It's hard to even find 16"/38", but he can wear those with a tie without looking too dorky. 16-1/2" / 38" just gaps so much at the neck he looks (from the neck up) like a kid dressing up in daddy's shirt & tie.

18. I'll have to check that out...
Are they in New England at all, or online? LLBean and Lands End carry some shirts in Medium|Tall, not sure if that's long enough for your husband, though...

12. You look like my mom and step father when they were
first married. He was 6'4" 200 and she was 5'2" and 110.

14. pretty close
I'm 5'5" so there's only a 13 inch difference. But of course, heels add a couple of inches (I can't wear the real tall ones though), so it looks like less in the photos.

I wonder if the delivery system would make a difference... I mean, if the pill doesn't even get into the intestinal tract...

Ya know, sneezing isn't all that bad...
