See my comment in this that thread.
Are you bothered by going to stores where there is lots of visual stimuli? I think that I must really experience the world differently than most people.
I am actually more bothered when I go to someone's houses and they have the television on and are trying to have a conversation with me like the television is not on or when I was in school and was sitting at a lunch table with multiple conversations going on in close distance.

1. I find it rather amusing that you're double-posting a thread about spam
And I typically wear my sunglasses in the supermarket.

5. Sorry, it was just something that never occurred to me
That some people are overwhelmed by visual stimuli that isn't like a laser show or something but part of the life that most people experience.
I just found this interesting because it is out of my range of my personal experience. I wanted to know many people really are like that.
I suppose that I wouldn't have had to link the thread, but it would require much more of an explanation on my part.

2. Well, supermarkets dont' bother me
But honestly, that's one reason I don't care for cities. Way too much visual stimulation - it all becomes a blur to me and makes me feel like I'm going to have a siezure. Lights, colors, cars, people, signs, objects, sounds.... Way too much. Give me a walk in the woods any day.

3. auditory stimuli
I am more bothered by a lot of noise. I'm very sensitive auditorially (comes from having very poor vision, I'm sure), while visual stuff doesn't bother me as much.

4. Sometimes--when I'm sick.
Edited on Sat Apr-16-05 10:44 AM by tjdee
When I started to get my neverending sinus infection, I walked into a supermarket to get some echinacea tea and I was kind of overwhelmed.
It was weird.

Also, that writer is a prick, but I replied to the other thread.
:)
