Good songs to smoke to?
Anyone have any songs they recommend listening to while smoking pot? Anything either relaxed or intricate will do, but what do you like to listen to?

One of the most under-appreciated works of classical music ever.

3. I personally like Enya
My husband thinks that the music is lame. My best friend said "It doesn't suck." which meant that he didn't really like it but could tolerate it. I have listened to my four cd set alone high and found it rather relaxing and positive.

And try to look for a song called Svefn g Englar by Sigur Rós. The album is called Agaetis Byrjun.

5. This is the ultimate answer don’t go any further….
Smoke Rings --- Mary Ford or KD Lang

Tell me where do they go
These smoke rings i blow each night
What do they do these circles of blue and white
Why do they seem to picture a dream of love
Why do they fade my phantom parade of love

Puff puff puff puff your cares away
Puff puff puff night and day
Blow blow them through the air silky little rings
Those little smoke rings I love take me above with you

Puff puff puff puff your cares away
Puff puff puff night and day
Blow blow them through the air silky little rings
Those little smoke rings I love please take me above
Take me with you

21. "puff the magic dragon "
My dad used to sing that song to me as a kid.
Kinda sad that it took me roughly 18 years to figure out what it/he meant.
oh well good times eh.

7. side two of "Moving Pictures" by Rush
I know a lot of people really hate Rush, but when I used to smoke I loved listening to that, especially on headphones. "Hemispheres" is also a good album for that.

13. Brian Eno
Brian Eno, especially anything from 1973-1981.

I remember back in the late 70s I made an Eno compilation cassette (remember them) and gave it to a friend. He said nothing about it for months.

Then one Sunday morning he calls. "What *was* that stuff on that tape you gave me"? he said. Turns out him and a bud had, uh, abused a substance somewhat stronger than pot, and just for grins popped my tape in. "We listened to the first song and just looked at each other, it was the most incredible music I've ever heard". Well, the drugs might have had a hand in that assessment, but really if you are open-minded musically it is one-of-a-kind stuff, and way too unknown.

If you prefer quiet and contemplative, get "Another Green World". If edgier noisier music appeals to you, try "Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy".

And be aware, Professor Eno invented the term "ambient" and writes lucid articles about politics in America.

16. I really don't dig music while tokin'. It makes me too sleepy.
I really like to watch cartoons, or I'll put in our tape of the "Little Donny" episode of Upright Citizens Brigade. That episode is the funniest thing ever!

19. I know this is weird but..."Imperial Bedroom" by Elvis Costello is a
GREAT album to get high to. Underappreciated and actually pretty psychedelic. Listen to it on a hot, summer afternoon around 1:30 or so, while doing bong hits with the air conditioner on full blast. Really!

Also:

Van Der Graaf Generator: The Quiet Zone
Guided by Voices: Self-Inflicted Aerial Nostalgia
Eric Dolphy: Out to Lunch
Jellyfish: Spilt Milk
Zappa: You Can't DO that On Stage Anymore, volume 1
Anything by the Roots Radics, Lee Scratch Perry, or Agustus Pablo (I love Dub)
Capt. Beefheart: Mirror Man (25-minute "Tarotplane")
Shudder to Think: Ten Spot
