The Petco/Petsmart in my area is wonderful. The animals for adoption are well taken care of, and they are treated very well. They have bigger cages than the SPCA.
I know a girl who got two kittens from there, a brother/sister and they were in great health. She also found everything she needed for them at the store and the people on staff went out of their way to help her.

I would much rather see people boycott WalMart. Petco/Petsmart actually, in my expireience, is a very good store.
I think you are right, and PETA should be fighting Seal-Clubbers in Canada or farms that make Veal.

Cats are good in any food. Cat Lasagna (lots of garlic), Cat Gumbo (with or without shrimp), Persian Cat Falafel, and the good ol' American Kittyburger for instance, are all delicious nutritious meals.
