Congratulate me

I'm a little sad. I just had my 1000th post and I missed it. It was like blinking when your odometer rolls over. I kept telling myself to watch for it and save it so I could write something profound or at least important to me, and then I missed it.

So I guess with this 1001st post I'll tell you DU how much I love you all. Every single damn one of you. The lurkers. The trolls. People that piss me off. People I admire. Low posters and the ones with 20,000+. Atheists and believers. Gore, Kerry, Dean, Clark, Kucinich, Edwards, Sharpton, Gephardt, and Mosley-Braun supporters. I draw the line at Lieberman ;-).I love the diehard Greens. The moderators and Admins. I love every person who ever started a thread saying goodbye to DU and I love every person who greets a newbie with warmth. I love every statistician that proves again and again that the election was stolen and I love the people who are focused again on the issues that we need to focus on to get more voters next time. I love everyone who wrote their real names in the "My name is thread" after the election. I love everyone who despite learning again and again about so much that is wrong with this country and the world you keep coming back here because, try as you might, you just can't stop caring.

I love every person here who cares enough about their country to find this place, to read what's out there, and to think for themselves. We're all different and we certainly don't always agree but dammit we are here. We are still here and we are still fighting. We are not alone and we will not ever surrender.

So thank you all of you for keeping me informed, comforted, and connected. So much of the time I think, "Is it just me or...?" and DU always answers the question, "No. It's not JUST you." And that is why I keep coming back.
