I just saw something really interesting.

I just saw a woman, obviously professional, dressed to the nines with high heels and perfect hair riding a BICYCLE with her briefcase in a basket attached to the handle bars. That's only the second time I've seen anything like that in this city. Several years ago I saw an obviously well-to-do woman wearing a long fur coat and heels riding a bike down a city street. Just thought I'd share that for what it's worth.

6. I Think It's More Common for Professional People

of all kinds to ride bicycles in Europe in general and in Amsterdam in particular. I believe Denmark is another very bike-friendly place.

It's not an uncommon sight at all. And if it's raining, you just put your rain suit on over your clothes and plastic bags over your shoes.
