Some days I hate being an appraiser...
Especially like today. When a foreclosure appraisal reminds me of just how *good* the economy is doing...and the house has a swingset in the backyard. :( It wasn't a big house either. It wasn't a person who had bought outside of his/her price range. It was probably a person that worked in the automotive field once upon a time in Michigan. :( It was a crap Monday.

8. Especially when there are no jobs to be had here in the fields these
people are trained in. The auto industry is a barren wasteland.

2. Poor MrsGrumpy
:grouphug:

You really have a reason to be grumpy today (I love your name, BTW). Moms in particular have a need to "make things right" for people. It is also hard when you have that "there but for the grace of God go I" feeling. How are things around Michigan now with this GM mess?

9. That's exactly it. MrG is in the automotive field, working for a supplier.
On days like today...I feel like I am earning blood money. Michigan is rapidly turning into a ghost town of foreclosed houses, sky high debts and for lease signs in the windows of what used to be auto suppliers.

12. This job was a lot more fun in the Clinton years...that's for sure. Sales
and refinance. Enter Bush...enter the era of the foreclosure.

I know what you mean I see similar things like old folks who can't afford their meds and folks who can't afford food. It makes me ill. It hasn't been so long since we were their ourselves, at least very near.......

14. It does make me feel quite sickish inside. As if I am participating in the
feast on the less fortunate. I am sure one of these days, soon, it'll burn me out. :(
