Oh...you're still a flatlander ;)

I'm 5th generation. My first bit of advice for newcomers to the Rockies. "Expect the majority of the snow in March and April."

The Winter's are mild, it's the Springs that are brutal.

I love these day's. An excuse to sit on the couch and do nothing. Well...maybe play the guitar...watch movies...play videogames. It's a day off for the whole city.

Welcome to Colorado. If you don't like the weather...wait five minutes.

6. Actually, We've Been in the Pueblo Area Since 1995
We survived the Blizzard of October 1997, where we lost power (and heat) for a week.

3. Old saying:
April comes in like a lion & goes out like a lamb.

5. I Thought That Was March - Not April.
Here in Colorado, March came in like a lamb, and went our like a frozen lamb.

:-)

10. We Had a Major Storm in Indiana in January
It was the Ice Storm of 2005. 9 days with no heat, electricity, whatever food you could find, and trees snapping in half around you. One tree caved in on my back porch crushing it.

My main meal was tomato soup on top of the kerosene heater. So much for the American Red Cross helping us out, the closest shelter was 16 miles away and it was deadly to be on the road with powerlines down everywhere.

11. Not me I can assure you.
Don't like to see anyone go through that mess this late in the year. Snow has its place, but not in April; or late March for that matter.

12. I saw all the bad weather you guys are having on the news tonight.
If it makes you feel any better it may not be snowing here but I did have golf ball size hail tonight! :(

Sorry you lost your power, when I used to live in the mountains in California we'd have snow storms like that. I never liked being snowed in and freezing my tush off without any power.

13. Talked to a friend in Arvada ealier...
...and she said it had stopped snowing. But here in Lakewood, it's never quit. A few miles made such a difference.

The wierdest thing is that the snow plow actually came down our side street a half hour ago. Last major storm a year or so back it took them 5 days to come through.

Sorry you lost your electric.
