1. My mom used to get so mad because I slid the slidey thing too fast!
She thought I would break it and we'd owe the cable company a zillion bucks for a replacement.

I was the wireless remote control for our family. :D

2. Or the old-sk00l remotes called 'clickers' for the sadly obvious reason,
that they made a horrid *CLICK!* noise every time you pressed a button!

3. Oh, I remember those from the sixties! We were the first people on our
block to have one. My husband made it, and it was a simple clicker. Worked like a charm. We didn't mind the noise at all. Course, you still had to watch the commercial to know when to turn the sound back on, but w/out sound, the commercials were often quite beautiful. lol

8. Sounds like he was handy!
The ones I remember were from around 82 or so. They were ugly as sin, and we would always trip over the cord. It was something else to get a wireless remote!

7. I had a 10 ton JVC VCR that had a remote with the chord attached.
...and it was probably the best VCR I ever had. When the other ones came out, I went to them, and of course, after their habitually breaking down, I'd pull out the old JVC. It always worked, and was built like a tank.

9. The old microwaves were heavy as hell, too!
I remember the old VCRs. They cost like 400-500 bucks. Now you can get one for 30 bucks..lol.

12. My parents still use the microwave they purchased in 1979.
It is a Sharp, bought at the Japanese department store Daiei in Honolulu. Still does a good job.
