I just saw Sin City
Wow.......the level of violence was just......WOW!!!!!! This is not a movie to take your Grandma to. But it was good, in fact very, very good. I especially enjoyed the extremely effective camera work and use of green screen technology to bring a real comic book feel to the production. It was all done so seamlessly that you really felt like you were watching a pulp fiction comic book come to life. The periodic splashes of color were a nice touch as well. The acting was terrific by the large cast, especially Mickey Rourke. If you have a strong stomach for adult themes and violence, this movie is definitely worth seeing.

1. I loved it
The artistic style of the film. The acting caliber, etc. Mickey Rourke was GREAT as Marv, "Goldie. . . " It pulled at the heart strings, made you laugh, and entertained. imo one of the best films of the year.

4. Visually it was fantastic; otherwise it was...ehh!
After seeing the movie last night, I kind of think of it in the same way I think of the movie "TRON". It is a ground-breaking film that shows the true possibilities of the state of the cinematic art. But at the same time, it is completely hobbled by a ridiculous story and just-plain-dumb dialog that is far better suited to comic books than movies. I sincerely hope Frank Miller doesn't quit his day job.

That having been said, I will say that this movie included the role of Mickey Rourke's life. He was terrific in it, and I normally can't stand the guy. He added a lot of humor and color to a project that was, when you sit down and think about it, pretty superficial.

So was the movie worth seeing for me? Absolutely. Is it one of the greatest films of, say, the last ten years? Not by a long shot.
