When they finally get around to making movies based on "The Cat Who.."
books by Lilian Jackson Braun, Brian Dennehy is the ONLY person who could ever play Jim Qwilleran.

1. Lillian is quite old and has no interest in having her books made
into teevee movies. I inquired about 15 years ago about optioning the rights to the books. She steadfastly refuses to have ANYTHING to do with the entertainment industry.

Tom Selleck is my vision of Jim. The mustache, you see.

3. Tom Selleck is definitely better than Dennehy
He has the height and the mustache.

Not sure he's exactly right, but definitely better than Dennehy.

4. I read that she has o'k'd them becoming movies after she writes the final
one. They aren't for everyone, surely but I enjoy them.
I still think Brian Dennehy would be great. Selleck is just too slick and pretty plus I could never see him happily settled in Pickax City dating size 16 Polly the librarian!!

2. I've always wondered who read those books
I refer to them as the "Cat who made me puke." :) Sorry, I just can't stand her writing. I rank her right up there with the lady (Davidson?) who writes about the amateur sleuth, professional cook Goldy Bear.

5. I'm not saying they're great literature. Just a pleasant "cozy" read.

6. I read them. but I like the "Aunt Dimity" series better.
:-) "Cozy" indeed. And there are ones by Jeanne Dams and Martha Grimes. I love Grimes' character Melrose Plant.
