Can a lack of sleep actually make your head hurt
I've been completely messed up by Daylight Savings Time. I had a wicked headache yesterday. Today, I don't have a headache, but a line across my forehead is tender to the touch.

Why am I up?

1. I do not know why you are up
but I do get headaches from sleep deprivation. Even my hair hurts at times.

2. Yes - a lack of sleep can make you feel as if you've been
partying the night away. :hi:

3. I've gotten into a pattern of falling asleep early (for me) and waking up
early. I fell asleep with my head next to my laptop, feet dangling over the end of the couch and a bright light shining in my face.

My eyes feel like they were seared.

4. I'm almost used to B.S.T.
And we changed a week earlier than the U.S.

I don't know if there is physiological evidence, but in my experience screwing up the body-clock can impact on the whole body. I do not adjust well to the hour changes (though autumn is better).

5. Yes, a resounding yes. I know from personal experience.
I need to be up at 1:00 p.m. this afternoon to get ready for school/therapy/all sorts of things I have to do tonight. I'm still up. I had a headache yesterday too. And when I pull all nighters and don't get enough sleep, which I do often, I end up with headaches. You definitely can get a headache from not enough sleep.

6. Extreme lack of sleep can even make you delusional.
I've seen it -- almost schizophrenic behavior -- from lack of sleep. Also, for anyone trying to lose weight, you are less likely to lose if your sleep is disturbed.

10. When I am short on sleep I get a "cement head" headache
It's basically a sinus headache that disappears if I take a nap.

11. Yes.
When I was a new mom and sleeping AT MOST 4 hours a night, I developed an incredibly painful headache. I remember bursting into tears when my doc said: "Can't you just get, say, 3 consecutive nights of 8 hours or more of sleep? That should really help kick this headache."
