By the rivers gently flowing...Illinois. Illinois.

5. Tarheels Must Be Punished Along With Their Evil Coach...
I'm getting out my Jayhawk talismans and mojo today...(KU Dad Cup, Blue Rock Chalk Wristband, etc.)as if it were a KU game tonight...I'm hoping that the great Jayhawk who dwells in the Phog will hear and see fit to caste out the demon Tarheels and insure that justice is served and the wicked are punished... ;-)

I would not have liked him leaving, not matter what, but I could stomach it if it wasn't for how he did it. It's the HOW that galls me more than anything. He just RUINED the unadulterated joy we should have all been feeling during that 2003 Championship Game run and perhaps cost us a title to boot...and if it wasn't his fault but North Carolina's then he should have refused them for ruining KUs Final Four run if nothing else...that is if he really "gave a flip about Kansas"...

I think Roy has a big ego and wants to be adored...He still thinks he deserves to be adored by Kansas fans which shows he doesn't realize what he did...

When you consider that a lot of people are saying this just didn't crop up during the Final Four, it had been planned or at least anticipated as possible, it makes his behavior even worse...

In reality, I think North Carolina thought it would be good for THEIR program to have the entire sportsworld talking about North Carolina during OUR Final Four, since they had no team there they stuck their powder blue noses into our fun WITH THEIR COACHING PERSONNEL ISSUES and ruined it...

You don't forgive that...unless there is a big, big apology by Dean, Roy and the entire UNC Ad Department...That ain't gonna happen...

There's always 24 hour wall-to-wall Pope coverage to watch after all.

"Good thing the Pope didn't die during the game . . . they might've interrupted game coverage!"

I said "Dad! I can't believe you said that!" :spank:

11. Go Tarheels
Straight back to Chapel Hill with your tail between your legs...

Actually, I am glad Williams left for his dream job at NC. That opened up the KU position, which was Illinois' Bill Self dream job allowing Illinois to hire Bruce Weber, who just may be the best in season coach in the country (Xs and Os, team additude, etc. Recruiting remains to be seen.)

35. Fellow Kansan here
I feel your pain. You may have heard the screams from my house at the end of this game.

Roy is an ass. He screwed KU and its fans. I can NOT congratulate him. Just when I thought I had gotten over his betrayal two years ago, he goes and wins the thing tonight. Bastard.

12. Ummm . . . it's UNC---new workplace of John Edwards--who attends the games
by the way.

And Dean Smith, who is our former great basketball coach who ACTIVELY campaigned for the Democrats in 2000 and 2004.

Chapel Hill, home of UNC, is the epicenter of liberalism in North Carolina and the county ALWAYS goes BLUE on Election Day.

So your Red / Blue analysis is all f'ed up!

17. Yes, the Red/Blue state thing is waaaay off base.
Jesse Helms derides UNC and calls Chapel Hill "Communist Hill" because of all the dang liberals. (Of course, he's just an asshole anyway.)

23. Shortbus, a friend of mine just emailed me this so I'll share with you:
2 tickets to the Final Four - $200

2 flights to St. Louis - $500

Tearing up your American Express card because you're sick and tired of Coach K ads - PRICELESS

There are some tournaments Coach K can't buy. For everything else, there's MasterCard.

:P

25. Me too! I went to UNC but the "4 Corners" were enough for me to hate them
for...oh say about 30 years!!! Now, I like Roy Williams and I like this team. I can forgive them after all this time.
State did surprisingly well this year and I'm a Duke fan going on 38 years, but a lot of people don't like to discuss Duke!
Go Heels! Best of Luck to a kick-ass team!!!:bounce:

27. Illinois makes me a little nervous
Plus the fact that the last time 1-2 met in the title game, it didn't work out so well for 2.

Nevertheless, I'll have Lexington cheering Carolina before the game is over.

but then I have a degree from Carolina, so am a little biased. Carolina is very blue in more ways than one...if you haven't been to Chapel Hill, you might not know that. Something tells me the Heels have got what it's gonna take. Happy celebrating, Lex.
