Pamela Anderson Sticks Up For Britney Spears
<snip>

BURBANK, Calif. -- Pam Anderson is throwing her support behind Britney Spears.

Tired of pregnancy reports, Britney Spears this week lashed out at the tabloid media for apparently making stuff up about her.

Anderson told Access Hollywood that she could go "sue crazy" on everybody for misrepresenting or misjudging her character, but she said, "At the end of the day, hopefully people realize that the tabloids are just awful."

She added that they sell magazines based on negative stories about people, and that no one's going to buy happy stories.

On March 30, Spears wrote an open letter to what she called "False Tabloids."

In the letter she wrote, "As you read this letter, I bet you are asking yourself: Who? Who, me? Am I a false tabloid? Well, I don't know. But after this posting, I hope you are asking yourself a lot of questions. Your employees are a reflection of your magazine. Do you, Us Weekly, In Touch, Star and other desperate magazines want employees who are honest, or those who are liars? It seems to me that you'd prefer the latter. I'm really concerned about the people you hire to work at your companies. I'd like them to ask themselves the question, "What am I lying to myself about?" Is it that you are 50 pounds overweight? Is it that your children aren't making wise decisions? Or is it maybe that your husband or boyfriend is cheating on you? Until you face what is going on in your life, I guess you'll remain a false tabloid."

Spears also wrote that People Magazine is great in her book.

Anderson, star of Fox's upcoming sitcom "Stacked," said she won't allow any tabloid magazines in her presence. "I just said, 'Look, I don't want any of that stuff around me."'

2. Am horribly ambivalent about Pamela Anderson
I could never stand her: tacky and kinda crazy. But then last year, I discovered she paid all training and living expenses for a US Women's gymnastics who was in her 20's, so she could make the Olympic team. The woman did, and won two medals. Pamela Anderson said she thought everyone should have a shot at their dreams. This was such a nice thing to do. <sob> I'm now so confused!!!

her own terms.

100k later:

"But then last year, I discovered she paid all training and living expenses for a US Women's gymnastics who was in her 20's, so she could make the Olympic team. The woman did, and won two medals. I hope it was genuine. Something inside me says it was a PR move. Diffuse a scandal or turn 15 minutes into 18. I don't know. I gave 5 bucks to a homeless guy when I went to buy beer at Safeway. I have a hunch Access Hollywood would not be interested in a interview with me.

edit -- plopped on a ed to interest:

14. No, I think it was sincere
She never mentioned it to the press, nor was it conveniently "leaked" by her PR person. It was an athlete that mentioned it, at least in the article I was reading. I actually think it was sincere. PA also was never all over TV blabbing about it. She just kinda did it.

3. Funny. I thought People Magazine owns InTouch and uses the same writers.
For one mag, they are bad, bad, bad....the other, wonderful! How crazy! :hi:

Oh, and Britney...People usually skip over the stories about you. It would wreck their lunch.

5. We all get rumors told about us at times. This 'sue crazy' dolt should
S. T. F. U. or sue herself for leaving herself wide open TO rumors and tablid trash.

What a fuckin' dolt, out of touch with reality. Grow a skin, Brit-brat. And wear some more clothing too. You're gross.

7. Pamela Anderson is also a vegetarian
and an animal rights activist. Anyone who has compassion for animals is A-OK in my book.

9. Pam is defending Britney because
Britney got Pam's breast implants after Pam had them removed.

It's kind of like being blood brothers in the Old West.

11. Pam Anderson and Britney Spears....
two of the most vapid, wastes of space on the planet. Why does anyone care what either of these bimbos has to say?
They're entire existence revolves around their sexually explicit actions and then they complain when people write about it?
I know I'll sound sexist saying this, but these are two women who would be better off never voicing their opinions. Neither has the brain power necessary to engage in intelligent discourse.

13. All Brit-brat cares for is the acquisiton of money, and doesn't care how.
Sex sells. She knows that.

She'll play up the dichotomy for as long as she can.
