2. We were with AOL back in the day
Edited on Sun Apr-03-05 01:05 PM by mtnester
in the early 90's when it was a great place to be...

we dumped them 5 years ago and have never looked back.

On edit - I warned my dad this last fall what would happen when he cancelled his account..thank GOD I did because it was a NIGHTMARE for him to try and cancel...he had to call his credit card company and tell them any further charges from AOL was stealing...and the PHONE CALL from hell to cancel...he still talks about it even now, like he was in a war zone.

AOL is not the company it was a decade ago.

Edited on Sun Apr-03-05 01:08 PM by fluffernutter
you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave"

they make it SOOoo easy for you to use them, and then they never let you go.

12. Us too...
back about 1997, they kept billing our checking account for two additional months. Rather than pay us back, they attempted to offer us "free service" for four months instead. I advised them that if I was satisfied with their crappy service, I wouldn't cancel them.

7. THAT'S THE ONE.
I really cannot stand it any more than you can. It drives me nuts, and I have what I believe to be a high threshold for pain.

9. ARGGGHHH!!!!
I fucking despise that commercial!!!!!!!!!!!!

So glad I'm not the only one. My SO is bewildered by my reaction to things like that. He doesn't even notice them, so it makes me even more irritated. Then I start wondering if there's something wrong with ME.

And the ones with the "engine start" button. What's that about?

BTW I hate that AOL commercial, too - especially the part where the stupid guy follows the other one to the cashier as if he's going to eat the spammity calamity.
