Got a favorite bible quote?
I'm noticing more scripture in sig lines these days. Myself, I'm looking at Proverbs 26:11,

"As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly."

1. A little something for the "10 Commandments Monument Crowd"
MAT 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

MAT 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

2. Armaments, Chapter One, verses nine through twenty-seven
And Saint Attila raised the Holy Hand Grenade up on high saying, "Oh Lord, Bless us this Holy Hand Grenade, and with it smash our enemies to tiny bits."
And the Lord did grin, and the people did feast upon the lambs, and stoats, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and lima beans.
"First, shalt thou take out the holy pin. Then shalt thou count to three. No more, no less.
*Three* shall be the number of the counting, and the number of the counting shall be three.
*Four* shalt thou not count, and neither count thou two, excepting that thou then goest on to three. Five is RIGHT OUT.
Once the number three, being the third number be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade to-wards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it. Amen.

16. Here's another one for ya:
..And spotteth twice they the camels before the third hour, and so, the Midianites went forth to Ram Gilead in Kadesh Bilgemath, by Shor Ethra Regalion, to the house of Gash-Bil-Bethuel-Bazda, he who brought the butter dish to Balshazar and the tent peg to the house of Rashomon, and there slew they the goats, yea, and placed they the bits in little pots.

3. Ezekiel 25:17
I know the Pulp Fiction quote is not accurate, but it sounds soooo cool:

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish, and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and goodwill, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down on thee with great vengence and furious anger, those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers, and you will know my name is The Lord when I lay my vengence upon thee.

POW POW POW

sorry :-(

10. Matthew 22:21
They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

Seems like a pretty clear call for separation of church and state to me.

11. Here's one for General Boykin and the Freepazoids who support him..
Romans 1: 21-23

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man.

17. Ezekiel 23:20
"And there she doted on her paramours, whose members were as large as those of asses and whose emissions were as those of stallions" I learned this while working at a christian camp. During one of the bible studies, my friend Dave said that he'd like to share a verse that helps to inspire him when he's feeling down. It was one of the funniest things I'd ever witnessed.

19. George Carlin's Two (and possibly 3) Commandments
From Complaints and Grievances:

Thou shalt always be honest and faithful to the provider of thy nookie.

And...

Thou shalt try real hard not to kill anyone, unless of course they pray to a different invisible man than you.

Two is all you need; Moses could have carried them down the hill in his fuckin' pocket. I wouldn't mind those folks in Alabama posting them on the courthouse wall, as long as they provided one additional commandment:

Thou shalt keep thy religion to thyself.

" Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come.

AND

Matthew 5:23 --- "Therefore, if you are offering gifts at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there and go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift, after you have done so."
