Poll question: Each of these poll options is a percentage.
Try to get each option up to the listed percentage...

Let's see how close we can get.

(Inspired by the "Poll as Art" poll)

2. hmmm, so it needs to be locked at 100?
I'll resist the urge to add my vote to 1%

3. It could go on beyond that, though I doubt it would.
Probably won't make it past 20...

4. I like this poll best of them all.
It's fun. I wish I could calculate exactly how to do it with more than 100 people or less than 100 people. :)

5. Well, here's how to do it:

For whatever number, divide the number of votes by the total percentage (100%). Multiply that answer by the poll percentage you want.

So, let's say you have 29 people voting.

29/100 = 0.29%

So, to get 23% voting on the first option:

23 x 0.29 = 6.67 people

Well, getting 6.67 people to vote is an impossibility. But what if 7 people voted for option one?

You'd get 24.14%. Close enough for me. ;)

6. Thanks
It's nice to be able to learn new methods to calculate math questions I have. I made a milestone today so I can go to college for real now. I'm pretty happy about that. No remedial math courses for me now. Yipee!

7. I learned all that stuff from politics.
Well, I'd learned it in high school and college, but I'd never used in any practical way.

When you're figuring two party percentages for elections, it helps to have a knowledge of mathematical formulas.

I also finally learned where all the states were because of politics. Colorado and Wyoming had always mixed me up. Not anymore. :D
