2. I once booked a round trip ticket from Dallas to Detroit
on Priceline the day before I needed to go. I got the ticket for $150.00. According to Priceline the ticket normally would have cost several times that. I think that's about the best deal I've gotten in a long time. :-)

3. Depends on what you need...
Hotwire doesn't let you pick the airline or exact time of your flights, but sometimes they do have the best price by a lot.

Priceline is decent, as is Expedia, and Travelocity. You've got all manner of options :)
