I'm 31 and my hair is streaking grey
And I just realized that my newly grown beard also has some grey.

Is this...

Distinguished or Pathetic?

And more importantly, has DU contributed to this phenomenon? Does Skinner owe me a box of Just For Men?

4. Slightly damaged DNA
I started getting grey hairs when I was 23. Many many moons later, I'm starting to stripe, which is really annoying.

It tends to look more distinguished on guys, for some reason.

8. I noticed a few hairs in my early 20's
But now it is very noticeable.

I've kept my head shaved for the last 5 years and it's shocking to find the change.

31. Mine too
But it's not solid, which is why it ticks me off. Of course, if the converse were true, I'd probably complain about looking like a skunk. :)

37. That's what I call mine,
my skunk stripe. My wife used to work in the same hospital as I did, and she heard people mention the "lab guy with the stripe on his head".

I never quite knew how to feel about that as an identifier, but it sure is accurate.:D

i'm letting the old color grow out to see how i'll look with salt and pepper hair. I'm thinking a really good cut and it might look pretty good. i'm tired of being a slave to the salon.

35. That brings up an interesting question
Do you think DUers have a higher proportion of early grey hair?

Maybe something about actually paying attention to what's happening in the world?

32. At least you still have hair
I've known several guys who are effectively bald by their mid-20s.

I'm 35 and have a few greys here and there. My wife usually yanks them for me when she finds them-- which leads to more growing in...

36. well now don't diss on the bald guys
It depends on the gray and the bald. Have to admit that bald can look infinitely more stylish on some guys.

39. I didn't mean to imply that bald was ugly at all
In fact, for the last 5 years I've sported a shaven head.

You have more options when you're greying than when you've gone bald.

I wouldn't worry about it. There is a whole industry devoted to solving this problem and it works very well. Once a month, do the $2.69 bottle of Miss Clairol and you're set.

40. I'm 34 and have so much gray it's pathetic.
But I get it colored every six weeks, so no one's the wiser.

I've been seeing them since I was 18.

And yes, it's DU. I bet if I stopped having my hair colored, I'd see it's about 90% gray by now. I probably look like an old lady with a young face.

I don't know how many are there now and I don't want to in my case (but that's just my own personal preference). It doesn't stop me from being attracted to a man though. It can be pretty sexy in fact.
