"Liberal judges are trying to destroy God's presence in America"
Yesterday in my hometown shopper paper, delivered to every home, was a flier from a local church that is having this guy come speak. It is obvious bullshit, but he's a national rightie-wightie speaker at fundie churches.

I think it's political speech, not religious. I was going to call the shopper to register my objection to that material coming into my home, and ask that they eliminate my address from their circulation (hard to do, since they go out to BOXHOLDER). Also register my complaint with the Postmaster and request I not receive that shopper anymore.

Good ideas or not? Or should I ask for equal time (which they don't have to give me)? Should I contact the IRS on the church?

Or should I just shrug and say, "There they go again," and move on with life?

Other ideas?

(Yes, I am being serious here and no, I will not bomb or vandalize the paper's offices.)

1. I always heard that God was omnipotent --
how can any judge or even all judges everywhere destroy His presence? I sometimes think the churched don't have a lot of confidence in the Almighty.

6. LOL! My thoughts exactly.
It's a curious faith indeed that expects God to wait for the right wing to make its political moves before taking any action. :eyes:

2. If you think it is a political speech
You could contact the church and let them know your opinion.

3. I would contact the property tax division.
If the Reverend wants to make political statements, he and his church can pay the price like everyone else.

4. I was thinking about doing just that, since...
...the fundies are so good at doing stuff like that when they feel offended by something.

5. Contact the IRS
It probably won't do much, but it might keep them from harrassing the rest of your neighbors.

Or if you're lucky, they'll make a national event of it and there can be an honest evaluation of just what constitutes stepping over the line from religion to politics.

7. Background on Greer and Whittemore
And Greer, vilified by many religious protesters, is a church regular. He also is a conservative Republican in a state whose conservative Republican governor tried to overturn one of Greer's orders.

"George is the religious right," said lawyer David Kurland, a longtime friend.

Sorry, Greer is not only a card- carrying conservative Republican, but he also is a devout Baptist.
