You know you're a New Englander if...
"Vacation" means going South to New York City for the weekend.

You measure distance in hours.

You know several people who have hit a deer more than once.

You often switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day and back again.

You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a
snowsuit.

Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled
with snow.

You know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter, and
road construction.

You can identify a southern or eastern accent.

Down South to you means Philadelphia.

If your local Dairy Queen is closed from September through May, you
might live in New England

Your 4th of July picnic was moved indoors due to frost.

You have more miles on your snow blower than your car.

If your town has more bars than churches, you might live in New England.

You actually understand these jokes.

1. cute! :-) but 5 seasons - "mud" season is my favorite
also a last frost in July and a first Frost in August explains the garden veggie schedule.

and folks that do not understand "down east" and "you can't get there from here" just do not understand truth in roadside conversations!

Well, how else would you measure it? ;)

It took me quite a while to get used to giving/getting directions when I moved from CT to Indiana.... north? south? miles? What??
