2. Gamelan

I love this stuff. I had the opportunity to play in the ensemble for a Balinese puppet show in college; it was marvellous fun.

There are a couple functioning gamelans around Boston; the best one is probably MIT's Gamelan Galak Tika, run by professor Evan Ziporyn (who also plays with Bang on a Can, so you might conclude it's not entirely a traditional gamelan).

There's also a Javanese style gamelan, which is the style I prefer, but the guy that runs it has a nasty reputation.

4. I enjoy Balinese puppetry to the fullest.

I once attended a performance at Yale that haunts me as the syren songs haunted brave Oddyseus. Lovg live the puppets!
