This is Bobtail. I was less than three feet from him/her.

I'd gone out to take the feral cats their food. Only two, Ginger and Black, were waiting, and they were very bold. They didn't run -- they were HUNGRY. I'd taken the camera out, hoping to get a photo of one of their rears (for gender ID).

Along came Bobtail, also quite hungry. I stood stock still and s/he decided to chance it. When he got too close to the food, I moved just a little and that was enough to get him away from the food, but he didn't leave the porch for a long time.

I love where I live!

3. As cute and appealing
as this critter looks, he can be a pain in the rear....I also understand that their droppings are quite dangerous from a health standpoint....

20. Dangerous is not the word.
My neighbor has a boat docked on Lake Erie has a condo there.
His neighbor also docked his boat there and a coon climbed aboard
and left his droppings. The man cleaned up the droppings from
his boat with rags 3 days later he was dead.

16. What a beautiful fox!
We have deer by our property. We actually have too many up by where I live. They have a bad habit of darting out into the street.
My neighbor hit one a fe months back. Sadly, the deer died and her car suffered $5,000 worth of damage.

10. I hope you have a digital camera.
"hoping to get a photo of one of their rears"...

Just wondering what the folks at the photo lab might think.

By law; they're supposed to report kitty porn. :smoke:

13. Oh, it's kitty porn you want?
Heh. I don't have any. Although we have two young cats in heat (couldn't afford to get them spayed before it hit) and one of our boys (they're all neutered) has been trying to take care of business. Bless his little heart.

18. I love racoons
and that is a great pair of shots Bertha! I was sitting with my neighbor in her living room watching a movie(girls night out) when all of a sudden a HUGE racoon came across the room into the kitchen. We watched as it wolfed down a bunch of cat food, cleaned up, came in and checked us out then went back downstairs and out the cat door. They are bold and amazing creatures. Those are great pictures.

22. Yes. He walked right up to me and said,
"Bobtail's the name. Scavenging's my game. Got anything to eat in there?"

This critter has only a stubby little tail. Funny looking!
