ID question.
Recently we were at a restaurant (in a touristy area) and when it came time to pay the bill my husband gave them a credit card. The waiter then asked for his driver's license. We thought he would just check it against the name on the credit card but he walked off with it and was gone for about five minutes and came back with the CC and the license and the bill. That gave me the creeps. Is there any reason he would have to leave the table with his driver's license?

1. that is creepy, maybe a manager needed to see it?
I would insist on the server not leaving the table with it.

2. I would not have allowed that
With all this ID theft going on, there is no need for that
