So it's really taking things out of context to say this in anyway relates to "wholesome family values.

This is not about a specific condemnation of harlotry, it's about pornography. Can't the bible condemn harlotry without going into pornographic detail? "Christians" have banned books for far less content, and they don't care what the context was.

I think the context means something here. Is the point of that passage to show that, perhaps, something bad happened to her, so it's portrayed as an example of what NOT to do? Context matters, so I have to know that before I decide to attack the passage itself.

I do agree that fundies take certain things to unnecessary extremes, such as banning literature, etc.; however, we need to not only keep in mind the context surrounding this passage, but also the context of the times ... maybe this language wasn't offensive at the time. Yes, many people are extremely hypocritical when it comes to wholesome family values - but that's because of their actions ... not because Scripture contradicts the values many Christians uphold. IMHO, of course. :)
