If I have to hear mine bitch ONE more time about going to school and working and her saying ONCE more how much easier I have it because I'm not in school and working two jobs isn't that hard, I might just lose it. You can't come into work in a good mood because within the five seconds you're here, you want to scream your freaking head off! Must be nice to be able to come into work 10 minutes late every morning and then be a bitch to everyone else. /rant.

I have to take the telephone outside or into the bathroom to hear conversations when the whole flock is awake and home.

Frodo not only says "Hello" when the phone rings, she does it when you're dialing too. Animals know you're not gonna yell at them while you're on the phone.

BTW Never yell at a parrot :grr: :shrug: they yell louder and always try for the last word on the subject ~ which can be a problem when one of them speaks 517 words.

His favorite phrase is "Want some". If he doesn't get what he wants he will finally say "I want some of that!" very clearly. BTW he never gives up when there is something yummy on the table that he hasn't sampled.

The ones I work with take a good hour and a half to finally settle into their workday. They come in bitching, then they heat up some oatmeal in the microwave and get their coffee (while bitching), then they get on the phone and bitch some more, then they finally get down to work.

11. Can't you just confront her in a nice way

and tell her that you really don't like hearing this negativity day after day? Ask her what the real problem is, is she jealous of you, of what? I would acknowledge that going to school and working is tough, but hey, so is working two jobs. Encourage her to be accentuate the positive, she IS doing both, she should give herself more credit. Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional, (or so says my friend.)

Being dragged down by a complainer at 8:30am is no way to start the workday. If talking about it doesn't work, I would just put her on ignore if possible and try to avoid being around her, she'll get the message -- but it would be more effective if you try to talk to her about it first. That should clear the air.

13. Oh believe me, I've tried.

And getting in arguing matches at 6:30 AM isn't my idea of fun. I've told her that I realize she has it hard right now, but I don't have it that easy either. Her response is that she's worked two jobs before and I should be able to handle it, it's nowhere near as hard as going to school. :eyes: We get along most of the time, but she tends to take her frustration out on me (and sometimes our clients) first thing. Then, I'm expected to care when she talks about other things going on in her life. I'm sorry, why would I?

Thank you for the advice, but I really have tried to talk to her. I do believe ignoring her and ranting on here is my best option for the time being. :D

Keep this in mind, as since you mention school, I assume your co-workers are younger. I got divorced in 2000. My ex-wife spent so much money during our brief marriage, that I was forced to take a second job to keep up with the mountain of debt she left me with in less than a year. I decided to work in a restaurant as I could work at night and on weekends, and make decent money in tips as it was a busy restaurant right near a mall.

However, I was also at least a few years older than much of the staff there, sometimes several years older. I was even older than a couple of the managers. But, it gave me a good perspective. Sometimes when you are that young ¨C 18-25 or so, your problems seem to be the biggest problems in the world and everybody else pales in comparison. Every argument with a boyfriend or girlfriend is a Shakespearian tragedy; getting through life is more intense than your typical episode of ¡°24¡±; every college class is the mental equivalent of climbing Everest.

It is not an excuse, mind you. I think it is just a maturity thing.

But in this case, she's 21 and I'm 19. You'd think I would be the one with the issues! And I'm sorry to hear about the situation after your divorce. That had to be tough on you. Working in a resteraunt has it's ups and downs (I'm a server also), but you can make pretty decent money. Hopefully things are better for you now!

And, I'm remarried now to a woman that is very good with money and has a much better & more stable job than my ex-wife. Our financial situation is much better.

On the good side, at least I didn't have to pay alimony to my ex because of the way she spent money and we did not have any children.
