Is it creepy to date someone with your same name?
I mean, if you're gay... or if you were gay (hypothetically speaking).

1. I dated an anagram.
My name's Erik and I dated a Keri.

We never went out, we just passed notes around school for a week or so.

those androgynous names like Robin, Chris, Pat, Kelly.

On edit:
I used to go out with a girl called Frankie. Bothered me not at all.
On re-edit, I'm not sure why this might be germane.

3. Yes it is...
I would be pissed because you just know that one of your friends is going to introduce us as "Zak and Zak." and that just would just annoy the shit outta me.

7. Yes.
And my brother came out about 6 months later.

Maybe dating someone who shares your sister's name is some kind of cry for help.

26. Now this is creepy.
I had a date with this guy that I met between classes as a freshman. Craig's class was across the hall from mine and so we saw each other three times a week. After a while we started talking. The talking turned to flirting and after a short period of time we agreed to meet for a drink (back in the days of legitimate 18 year-old drinking) that (Friday) afternoon.

When afternoon rolled around I went to the prearranged location which was within a few blocks of where I lived. He was there when I walked in. I went up to him and said hello and asked him how classes were going. He seemed really glad to see me, gave me a big hug and kiss. We sat down and shared the rest of his pitcher. Then we started drinking schooners and playing Galaga. I was having a great time. All of a sudden the bar door opens. The sudden influx of light into the dingy bar caused me to look up and I saw him walk in the door. In an instant I felt like I was in a "Twilight Zone" episode. I was stunned for a moment. I finally looked at the guy standing next to me and then I looked at the guy that was walking towards me and then thought I'd had too much to drink. Turns out they were identical twins, Greg and Craig. I had been drinking and playing video games with Greg. Craig had been delayed at his job and was late. They thought it was funny. It wasn't the first time that they had been mistaken for each other and Greg had figured out what was going on when I walked up to him and started talking but decided not to tell me.

That creeped me out. It really creeped me out. It was the last time I talked to either of them and it was the last time I went to that bar. For some time after that whenever I met a guy I made sure to ask about his family pretty quickly to make sure I wasn't going to run into the same situation.

9. I was set up on a blind date with someone who shared my last name.
I'm glad to say we found that out before things "progressed." (not to say that things DID progress...we both recoiled in horror of course)

14. My friend Kerry dated a woman name Carrie
their pet names for each other was "namesake." They were heteros and that relationship lasted close to nine years. No one thought it was creepy.

The closest gay relationship I can think of that fits your description involved Alexi (we called him Lexi or Lex) and Alexander (whom we called Alex). No one found that creepy, like Kerry and Carrie, we all thought it was cute.

28. I've always pronounced Kerry and Carrie differently
I don't know if it's because I have an accent or not, but I've always pronounced Kerry with a short e (or is that a schwa?) like "bet", and Carrie with a short a like "sat". On a side note, I admit I watch American Idol, and it annoys me just a wee bit that Ryan Seacrest pronounces Carrie Underwood's name like Kerry.

Would Jack and Jack be any less odd if hetero?

Erin and Aaron (girl and guy)... it's not weird for their friends, mostly just confusing. I don't see why it'd be different if you're gay...
