He set up big mounds of water-mellons alongside US Route Seventeen South. Watermelons "twenty five cent" Sometimes I would stop shoot the breeze, share a cold beer. He sold a lot of melons out there on Route seventeen.

Now this story is not exactly about water mellons, not exactly. It is about a happening one day when I was waiting to launch my crab boat down at the government dock.

There was a week-end-warrior boat blocking the ramp. The guys were having a hard time getting their boat up on the trailer. I went over to give them a hand. Standing in the boat waiting, were two almost naked girls eating water-melon. I have to admit I may have been gawking. One of the girls held out a big juicy chunk of water melon and said "You want some?"
