and Angel too!

I actually didn't care much for the end of Season 3. The end of Season 2, however, ROCKED, and the rest of season 3 was great too; I just didn't care for the climax.

OTOH, the "gimmic" eps of Buffy are *way* better than any of the climax episodes. Hush, Once More with Feeling, the candy episode, the alternate reality episode (evil vampire Willow - oh my yes), the puppet Angel, the balet angel, etc, etc, etc.

Still, loved them all.

david

Edit: added a great ep.

4. Nah.
The best are "The Body" and "The Gift."

5. what happened on those episodes?
Edited on Wed Mar-23-05 01:06 PM by Bombtrack
I started watching and became addicted in season 2. Then I stopped about midway through season 4(Riley, Anya, and Tara were ultrashitty replacements for Angel, Cordelia, and Oz) . I intend to catch up when the ones after those start airing.

6. If you haven't been watching since mid-season-4....
I will NOT tell you what happens in those 2 eps.

You'll just have to wait for season 5. ;)

7. Was the gift the one at the end of the 5th season?
I actually watched sporatically now that I remember for the 5th season. I thought that the whole Glory/Dawn thing was ultra-retarded and if the episode is the one I think your talking about, where Buffy "dies", I couldn't disagree more. I can definetly say I didn't watch another newer episode after that. The season 4 and 5 big bad guys were formulaic jokes compared to previous seasons.

8. Glory was not a strong character. Didn't need to be.
Of course the mayor was the best big bad. The show was only in its 3rd season, and the non-Whedon writers weren't fully up to speed. They needed to work on character development still.

By season 5, the core characters were strong enough that the REAL demons to be confronted were the ones within. Glory was insignificant.

Season 5 was about family, and what defines a family. Joyce's death, Dawn, the departure of Riley (the worst major character in the history of the show, IMO), even the integration of Spike into the gang.
