Looking for a new vacuum cleaner that "doesn't suck"!
Has anyone here had any experience with those newfangled HEPA bagless units?

Vacuum cleaner shopping advice goes here:

5. I want a vacuum, not a 16th Century Transylvanian Count!
Oh...I thought you said "Orlock".

Anyway... Oreck's not available in Canada...at least not around here.

7. Though it was very pricey
it is the best ever.
Quiet, light weight, sucks big time, no beater thing that smashes whatever gets caught up, easy to take apart, damn near indestructible, easy to empty and clean, makes my house smell soooogoood, and of course NO filters or bags.
Great web site: www.dyson.com

8. I just looked at the site...
it says alot about my station in life that I was a little turned-on by those vacuums. The colours, the design... oh, baby!

4. HEPA bagless... my two cents:
1. The HEPA filter often gets clogged with those carpet air freshener/baking soda particles. Not fun to de-clog, but it's cheaper than buying a new filter after every sucking. :7

2. When the container gets full, remove the cover, put a plastic or paper bag over it; turn upside down SLOWLY. This will eliminate or reduce loose particles from free-floating back all around. (and silently tell that ORECK guy to STFU as, in his commercial, he sloppily dumps the whole container into the trash bag, causing a big-ass mess. :dunce:
