The Ring Two-don't bother
***Philosophical spoiler***
The idea behind this movie is simple: some Hollywood execs were sitting around and said "Hey, the Ring made a killing! Let's make a sequel!"
That's it. Seriously.
***End philosophical spoiler***

The Prophetess and I just watched the movie in a theater filled with age 12 Tyfanis and Brandens, who squeaked every time something remotely shocking happened, or the music became dramatic, whichever came first. In other words, not that often.
I really can't think of anything that this movie adds to the overall story, other than the idea of what happens now that they have passed the tape off to someone else. The story just kind of rehashes itself out again, with not much added.
Oy.

3. Uh-oh
My husband called a few hours ago and said he was bored and was going to a movie. I told him this movie was out now. An hour ago he called and informed me he was going to it. It may all turn out well - he's predisposed to give any horror film the benefit of the doubt, no matter how stupid or lacking the plot.

4. I wanted to see it then saw the reviews
I really liked the Japanese series as well as the first US remake. The reviewer for the Seattle P-I was hilarious; he said Sissy Spacek made such an impressive crazy older woman that she could single handedly remake the Crawford-Davis films of the '60s - ROFL. :D

5. She was the only bright spot in the movie
I liked the Ring and Ringu-for me, they had a get-under-your-skin kind of quality, even though they were silly. This was just bad IMO.

6. Here's my feedback after seeing it last night:

Considering I loved the first, as well as the original Ringu, I'm very, very, disappointed.
At least it had Lumbergh as a shady real estate agent.

And the killer elks---:wtf:
